The mission of the Parents' Activities Committee is two-fold:
Throughout the year PAC functions as the Putnam Indian Field School PTA. It sponsors events in support of the mission by collecting an annual activity fee. Community building events include the welcoming committee, the book fair, and the spring picnic. Enrichment events for the children can range from storytellers to dancers and musicians. PAC organizes an annual staff appreciation dinner in the spring. The Community Service Committee falls under the domain of PAC and typically plans events to benefit both local and international organizations throughout each year.
The Putnam Indian Field School has a strong tradition of parental involvement. PAC relies on the energy and leadership of the parent body to help achieve its goals. Every Putnam parent is a member of PAC, and parents choose many ways to be involved. Some enjoy taking a leadership role as an event chair and others prefer to be a class parent. Class parents provide support to teachers in the classroom by helping organize car pools for field trips and planning year end parties. They also serve as liaisons for mobilizing volunteers to assist with PAC-sponsored events.
Parents who need to purchase supplies for PAC related events can use the Putnam Indian Field School's tax exempt number. A reimbursement form can be downloaded here completed and submitted to the PAC Treasurer.
