Dear Parents:

Continuing with the children’s interest in ice and arctic animals we are moving on to exploring penguins.   The children will be learning about the life style and habitat of these birds. We will also incorporate other animals that live in the arctic, such as seals and walruses. The colors we will be discussing during this time will be white, black, yellow, blue and brown.

The sensory table has been an “icy” spot for the children to explore. There has been water, icebergs, penguins and some polar bears in the table. We changed it up with cornstarch and water along with the animals and this was a huge hit with the children.

We will be reading stories, singing songs, and doing movement rhymes related to this topic.

If you have any books or activities on this topic you would like to share with the class, please feel free to let us know.

Please remember to check your child’s box and make sure there are enough extra clothes, since they are spending lots of time exploring the water table.

Thank you all for supplying us with wipes and diapers. We truly appreciate them.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contacts us.

Love,

Lynn and Julit
