We believe that children learn through play, through active exploration of materials and through interactive experiences with other children and caring teachers. Through their experiences, children construct knowledge about the world.

Putnam Indian Field School recognizes that young children enjoy working and learning in small groups with lots of teacher attention. In expanding our facilities, we made sure to create spaces for children and teachers to focus together without undue noise and interruption. The Resource rooms are where this kind of learning takes place.
